Van Velsor's night didn't need any tunes from Motley Crue

The Young Marines. In this area, not many people have probably heard too much about it ... yet. It's a youth program in the United States open to children the ages of 8 to 18. It's a co-ed program designed to promote the mental, moral and physical development of its members.

OSF St. Mary Medical Center was founded by the Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis in 1909.  The hospital, originally located on south Cherry Street in the facility now occupied by St. Mary Square, opened its doors in August of 1909.

We do this all the time, take inventory.  When we pack a suitcase to go on vacation, we check off everything we need; when we go to the grocery store, we often carry a list of items to pick up in order to restock our cupboards and pantry.

In  the championship game of the 5th annual Abingdon-Knoxville Tournament, the Commandos girls basketball team faced a tall order against Brimfield. Specifically, her name was Paige Spietz.

There is a proud tradition of the Galesburg Junior Football League, with plenty of great players along the way and great memories to hold onto.

Known as 'Pick' to most people, Jeremy Pickrel has spent a good chunk of his life trying to make it to the big leagues. His breakout summer for the Galesburg Legion baseball team escalated into a scholarship to Illinois State University and then getting drafted by the Minnesota Twins organization.

The Carl Sandburg College women's basketball team opened up the Illinois Central Holiday Tournament with an 83-62 win over Mott, MI.

The Knox County YMCA will be hosting the Commit to be Fit Contest on Sunday, Jan. 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
